My Mom doesn’t read my blog, I wish she would but so far her reach into the social media realm has been pretty well Facebook exclusive. In fact I don’t even think she is a fan on my Facebook fan page so I can write this post about the gift that I chose her for Christmas. Last week I wrote about discovering the paper princess in downtown Picton, today I’m going to share another discovery I made in the County, Milford to be exact.

While taking a leisurely country drive in search of the perfect home-made jam, we stopped by our friends place, the Galloping Goat – it was Vivy’s first visit. The shop is amazing, with treasures found at every turn. While snooping around the upstairs showroom I discovered a truly magic find: a squished fairy stepping stone created by co-owner Tim Snyder.

One of Tim’s talents is that of an illustrator, not only have I seen his work at Comix Jam but Tim’s work can also be seen on the big and small screen as one of his other jobs is creating movie and tv storyboards. (A fun tidbit for the parents out there, Tim also worked on the claymation on Zoboomafu!) The stone was a very creative transition from a 2 dimensional drawing to a 3d sculpture – Mom will love it. Leslie is the other side to the creative force at the Goat, her knitted toques are incredible – a super must see.

Before I left to grab a jar at Pat’s Jams around the corner, Tim introduced me to their 2 young goats who are at present nameless. Their lack of names is because they’re running a contest to name them, the entries are in but it’s not too late to vote for your favourite, click here to vote.
