Makes me want to take a bath.

My good friend Jenn Hardenne followed her heart recently and started her own business, Amarais Artisan Skincare, and now she makes my favourite soap in the world – pink grapefruit. Jenn planned for months and took extensive lessons to perfect the fine art of all natural soap making. The end result makes me want to take a bath.
I’ve worked with Jenn before on some of the tourism work for the County and know how clever and creative she was. We decided the best approach to the packaging was to work in collaboration in real time. Jenn herself painted the background image for her products, we created the layout, typography and colour scheme over the course of two working meetings. Each soap has a different colour palette and, as per Jenn’s vision, when they are displayed create a quilt-like appearance. The final meeting was at the printers to talk about printing and paper possibilities.
Some of the scents created are:
Bergamot & Mandarin – a subtle combination of exotic citrus notes.
Lavender – infused with the relaxing scent of fresh lavender.
Pink Grapefruit – featuring the invigorating scent of ripe pink grapefruit.
Unscented – made without any added fragrance.
These soaps are made using a traditional cold process technique, which is believed to preserve the beneficial properties of the various oils used to make it. They are made in small batches, and cut and wrapped by hand, no two bars the same.
She also has a line of lipbalm:
Anise - featuring the delicious licorice-like scent of aniseed essential oil.
Cinnamon – warm and spicy, just like freshly ground cinnamon bark.
Peppermint – clean, fresh and tingly.
Shea Butter – made without any added fragrance.
